En tragedia terminó el paseo que un grupo de amigos antioqueños disfrutaban en las islas de Cartagena. Yeferson Álvarez Restrepo, de 18 años, murió en la madrugada de este miércoles, 28 de octubre, en un centro asistencial de esta ciudad como consecuencia de las lesiones que sufrió en un accidente marítimo que ocurrió horas antes, la tarde del martes, cerca de Barú. Aunque las autoridades marítimas ni de Policía se han pronunciado de manera oficial sobre este hecho, EL UNIVERSAL confirmó este miércoles que el cuerpo del joven turista está en la morgue de Medicina Legal, en Zaragocilla. Allí, en la parte externa de esa institución, al lado del Hospital Universitario del Caribe, EL UNIVERSAL habló con la mamá de Yeferson poco después que ella llegara a esta ciudad procedente de Medellín, tras enterarse de la tragedia que sufrió su hijo. Diana Restrepo le informó a este medio que su hijo y un grupo de amigos viajaron de Medellín a Cartagena el lunes, 26 de octubre, en la tarde. Aunque no tiene claro donde se alojaron, sí tiene conocimiento que el martes se estaban divirtiendo cerca de isla de Barú. Sobre las circunstancias que rodean este siniestro marítimo, Diana le aseguró a EL UNIVERSAL que no tiene mucha precisión. Manifestó, sin embargo, que lo poco que sabe es por amigos de su hijo, que le informaron que la tragedia ocurrió a eso de la 1:30 de la tarde del martes. Tal parece que Yeferson iba en una moto acuática al momento de los hechos. Una de las versiones que le dijeron sobre el accidente es que habría ocurrido en un choque entre motos acuáticas, en las cuales iban Yeferson y sus amigos. Tres de ellos quedaron heridos y fueron trasladados inicialmente al puesto de salud en Barú. Tal parece que Yeferson llevó la peor parte y por esa razón lo remitieron a un centro asistencial de mayor complejidad en Cartagena, donde falleció en la madrugada de este miércoles. De Yeferson, su mamá le contó a EL UNIVERSAL que era el segundo de dos hermanos y que residía con su familia en el barrio Manrique, en Medellín. Estaba estudiando una carrera universitaria y trabajaba en un almacén de cadena en la capital antioqueña. Su mamá viajó a Cartagena apenas supo la noticia, cuando le dijeron que el joven aún batallaba por su vida. Al llegar a esta ciudad se enteró que había fallecido. Capturan a 'Téllez' y 'El Gordo' en Cartagena; investigan su relación con robos en manada

La alerta de la ciudadanía puso en marcha un operativo de la Policía Metropolitana de Cartagena que terminó con la captura de dos hombres en la carretera hacia Turbaco. Los detenidos, conocidos con los alias de ‘Téllez’ y ‘El Gordo’, se movilizaban en una motocicleta y tenían en su poder un revólver calibre 38 con municiones, mientras las autoridades investigan sus posibles vínculos con hurtos bajo la modalidad de ‘manada’. El procedimiento se inició luego de que la Policía recibiera información sobre dos motocicletas en las que se desplazaban cuatro sujetos por el sector de Arroz Barato, cuyos movimientos despertaron sospechas por su posible relación con hechos delictivos registrados en la ciudad. La institución explicó en su reporte oficial cómo se activó el dispositivo para interceptar a los sospechosos: “La alerta sobre dos motocicletas sospechosas en las que se movilizaban 4 sujetos en el sector de Arroz Barato permitió activar un dispositivo de seguridad que incluyó el cierre estratégico de la zona sur de la ciudad, facilitando la interceptación de dos hombres que se movilizaban en motocicleta”. Tras recibir la información, la central de comunicaciones coordinó la activación de un plan candado y el despliegue de controles en puntos estratégicos de las vías de acceso y salida de Cartagena. Uno de esos dispositivos fue instalado en el corredor vial hacia Turbaco, donde uniformados de la Seccional de Tránsito y Transporte interceptaron la motocicleta en la que viajaban los dos hombres. Durante el registro, los policías encontraron un revólver calibre 38 con municiones en poder de uno de los ocupantes. Además del arma de fuego, fueron incautados dos teléfonos celulares y la motocicleta en la que se desplazaban los capturados. Uno de los datos destacados por las autoridades es el historial judicial de alias ‘Téllez’, de 26 años, a quien le figuran 15 anotaciones, la mayoría por los delitos de hurto y porte ilegal de armas de fuego. El otro capturado, conocido como ‘El Gordo’, tiene 47 años. La Policía Metropolitana de Cartagena adelanta las verificaciones para establecer si los dos hombres estarían relacionados con otros hechos delictivos registrados en la ciudad, especialmente con casos de hurto bajo la modalidad de ‘manada’, en la que varios individuos actúan de manera coordinada para cometer robos. Los capturados quedaron a disposición de la Fiscalía General de la Nación, donde deberán responder por el presunto delito de fabricación, tráfico, porte o tenencia de armas de fuego, accesorios, partes o municiones. Por su parte, el coronel Juan Pablo Ruiz Rodríguez, comandante de la Policía Metropolitana de Cartagena, destacó la coordinación entre las zonas de atención policial, la central de comunicaciones y las unidades de Tránsito y Transporte para reaccionar oportunamente ante las alertas ciudadanas. Está rodeada de familiares, pero siente un vacío inmenso ya que su hijo querido, Gustavo Manuel Díaz Mendoza, acaba de morir en un fuerte accidente de tránsito. En medio de su tragedia, la mujer accedió a hablar con El Universal y recordó a Gustavo como “un hombre bueno, trabajador, amigable y alegre. Añadió que se dedicaba a oficios varios porque era muy inteligente y creativo, así que aprendía rápido de todo”. Gustavo, de 33 años, falleció en la tarde del martes 27 de octubre en un hospital tras sufrir un aparatoso accidente en moto en Bayunca, donde vivía con sus seres queridos, en la madrugada del pasado lunes 26. Ocurrió exactamente en el sector El Chócoro, a eso de las 3 a. m., según contó la madre. “Él salió de la casa el domingo como a las 6 de la tarde. Se vistió, se puso unas chanclas y dijo que salía a dar una vuelta. Él siempre hacía eso así que no vimos nada extraño. Le pidió prestada una moto al tío y se marchó”, contó Maritza, mientras realiza la reclamación del cuerpo de su hijo en Medicina Legal, en Cartagena. Añadió que “el lunes en la madrugada nos llaman para decirnos que mi hijo se accidentó y está en el CAP de Bayunca. Estuvo hospitalizado hasta la tarde del martes, cuando los médicos me informaron que había muerto. Yo estaba en la sala de espera, visitándolo”. Sobre el accidente como tal no hay mayores detalles. Las autoridades investigan para determinar cómo ocurrió el choque de la moto y si hay otro vehículo involucrado.
