The U.S. Department of State has issued a “worldwide caution alert” for American citizens, mainly in the Middle East, amid an escalation in tensions in the region.In a statement updated on July 20, the agency said that the “security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation” due to fighting in the Middle East.“Iran and groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world,” the alert stated.Primarily for Americans in the Middle EastOn July 21, the department told U.S. citizens in the Middle East to “exercise caution and heightened vigilance” amid possible airspace closures, travel disruptions, and canceled flights. The alert did not name any specific country.Those Americans were advised to monitor information from local officials, local news, or embassy or consular alerts. The U.S. military will soon strike an Iranian nuclear site known as Pickaxe Mountain “very heavily,” he said.Not the First TimeThe State Department issued a worldwide alert in March amid fighting between the United States and Iran, which came after U.S.-Israeli strikes killed dozens of top Iranian leaders.Separately, the department sent out a similar warning in late May about U.S. citizens who at the time had traveled in Congo, South Sudan, or Uganda due to an outbreak of the Ebola virus.Last summer, a worldwide alert was issued due to a “conflict between Israel and Iran” that “resulted in disruptions to travel and periodic closure of airspace across the Middle East.” It came as American and Israeli military forces attacked Iranian nuclear sites in “Operation Midnight Hammer.”During the aftermath of the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel, the State Department issued a worldwide caution notice for Americans to be aware of possible anti-U.S. protests or terrorism.Countries With ‘Level 4’ AlertsThe State Department’s Travel.gov provided an update on social media this past week that nearly two dozen countries are under a “Level 4 - Do Not Travel” advisory, the highest issued by the department.Those countries are Afghanistan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Burma, Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Niger, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Uganda, Ukraine, and Yemen.The agency wrote: “We assign Level 4 based on local conditions and/or our limited ability to help Americans there. These places are dangerous. Do not go for ANY reason.”While Mexico was not listed by the travel agency, several areas are under Level 4 advisories, including Colima, Guerrero, Michoacan, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas, and Zacatecas states. Overall, Mexico is under a Level 2 advisory, meaning to “exercise increased caution.”The Level 4 advisories in Mexico were given due to high crime, kidnappings, and terrorism.

UNAM atiende revisiones de exámenesDe acuerdo con la UNAM, el estudio se llevará a cabo con rigor académico y criterios técnicos, con el fin de generar propuestas de mejora que optimicen el proceso de selección. El objetivo es atender todos los factores que pudieron intervenir en el desempeño de los aspirantes. "Asimismo, se informa que a partir de la publicación de los resultados se atiende a las personas aspirantes no seleccionadas que solicitan la revisión de su examen, así como a aquellas que tuvieron cancelada su participación. De estas últimas, quienes pidieron cita ya tienen fecha y hora para conocer personalmente las evidencias que sustentaron la determinación", indicó. The Senate is entering one of its busiest stretches before lawmakers leave Washington for the August recess, with several of President Donald Trump’s top nominees finally set to face confirmation hearings.The hearings could determine who fills some of the administration’s most important national security, law enforcement, public health, and defense positions as Republicans work to complete Trump’s team.Beginning Monday, the Senate will hold a series of confirmation hearings for several high-profile Trump nominees, including Jay Clayton for director of national intelligence, Todd Blanche for attorney general, Erica Schwartz for director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Keith Sonderling for labor secretary and Jay Hurst for Pentagon comptroller.Senate Republicans have made filling the remaining vacancies a priority before lawmakers adjourn for the August recess.Among the most closely watched hearings will be Wednesday’s confirmation hearing for Jay Clayton, whom Trump nominated to become the permanent director of national intelligence following Tulsi Gabbard’s resignation in June.Advertisement Clayton’s nomination has already experienced an unusual delay.The Senate Intelligence Committee had originally planned to hold his confirmation hearing on June 17, only for Trump to personally request that the process be postponed until Jamie McDonald was confirmed as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.Following Trump’s request, Intelligence Committee Chairman Tom Cotton announced the hearing would be delayed.“It is regrettable that the president has directed Jay Clayton not to appear at his confirmation hearing today,” Cotton said at the time.Cotton nevertheless praised Clayton as “a patriot and a highly qualified nominee.”The Senate initially sought to accelerate Clayton’s confirmation after Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act expired in June.Section 702 authorizes intelligence agencies to collect communications involving foreign targets overseas, including situations where Americans are communicating with those individuals, without obtaining traditional warrants.Republican leaders have expressed confidence Clayton will be confirmed.Senate Majority Leader John Thune previously called Clayton “a really good pick” and praised both his experience and qualifications.Even Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer largely avoided criticizing Clayton personally, instead saying he supported replacing Acting DNI Bill Pulte.Also appearing Wednesday will be Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, whom Trump nominated after appointing him to lead the Justice Department in April.Blanche previously served for 15 years in various Justice Department positions before entering private practice, where he represented Trump in several criminal cases between 2023 and 2024.His confirmation process has drawn questions from some Republican senators.Sen. John Cornyn of Texas has said he wants additional briefings regarding tax audit matters involving Trump before deciding whether to support the nomination.Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina has also emphasized that the Justice Department must remain independent in carrying out its responsibilities.Earlier this year, Blanche also addressed concerns surrounding a proposed $1.8 billion government weaponization compensation fund after some lawmakers questioned whether individuals convicted of violent crimes related to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot could qualify for payments.Blanche later testified that the Justice Department had removed the proposal.Wednesday will also feature a confirmation hearing for Acting Deputy Surgeon General Erica Schwartz, Trump’s nominee to permanently lead the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.The CDC has operated without a Senate-confirmed director for nearly a year after Trump dismissed former Director Susan Monarez following disagreements over vaccine policy with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. LA incorporación se abrirá en siete municipios: Mexicali, Tijuana, Ensenada, San Quintin, Rosarito, Tecate y San Felipe.El objetivo de este programa social, en el que se entrega un apoyo bimestral de 2,600 pesos, es contribuir en la mejora de los ingresos de todas aquellas mujeres que son jefas de familia y que actualmente se encuentran en condiciones de vulnerabilidad.Con estos recursos, se contribuye a mejorar su calidad de vida, ya que les permite solventar gastos personales y otras necesidades básicas e incluso contribuye al desarrollo académico de sus hijas e hijos.¿Cuáles son los requisitos para el registro al programa Tarjeta Violeta que ofrece 2,600 pesos?Es importante que las solicitantes cumplan con una serie de requisitos para poder registrarse a este apoyo que brinda el estado de Baja California, encabezado por Marina del Pilar.  Ser madre jefa de familia, soltera, divorciada o viuda. Tener entre 18 y 59 años de edad. Identificación oficial vigente, ya sea la credencial del INE o un documento emitido por la COMAR o IMN, puede ser una constancia de solicitante de la condición de refugiado, de reconocimiento de la condición de refugiado, de residencia temporal o permanente, así como la Tarjeta de Visitante por Razones Humanitarias. CURP actualizado. Tener un ingreso mensual menor a 15 mil pesos. Comprobante de domicilio no mayor a 3 meses. Acta de nacimiento de cada una de las personas que son dependientes económicos de la solicitante del apoyo. Comprobantes de estudios de los dependientes económicos que deben tener menos de 21 años, puede ser la boleta de calificaciones, comprobante de inscripción, constancia.
