Thomas Markle Sr. reportedly said that he went to the Philippines and Thailand because “12-year-olds are legal there.”

The disturbing claim was made by his first wife, Roslyn Loveless, in a 2019 letter she sent to London’s Metropolitan Police obtained by the Sun.

Loveless wrote, “I questioned Thomas Snr — he denied [child sex abuse] accusation but stated that he went to the Philippines and Thailand because 12-year-olds are legal there.”

In 2019, the legal age of sexual consent in the Philippines was 12 years old, but it was still illegal to pay for sex with anyone under 18.

In 2022, the country raised the minimum age of sexual consent from 12 to 16.

Loveless was married to the Duchess of Sussex’s father from 1965 to 1975. She died in 2024.

According to the outlet, Loveless sent her seven-page letter to Scotland Yard’s Fixated Threat Assessment Center (FTAC), which handles risks to the British Royal Family, politicians, or other prominent public figures.

Metropolitan Police didn’t have jurisdiction to investigate the allegations in the letter against Thomas Sr. since it allegedly happened abroad, but they did share the letter with both Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry.

Thomas Sr. is now being investigated over “hundreds, if not thousands” of child sex abuse images allegedly found in his home in Cebu, Philippines, the Sun reported Friday.

Thomas Sr.’s son, Thomas Jr., allegedly found the materials inside several boxes and turned it over to local police, according to the outlet.

The former lighting director, 82, denied the allegations to the Daily Mail, calling them “sick lies.”

But on Sunday, the Philippine interior minister, Jonvic Remulla, told the Guardian that all signs point to Thomas Sr. possibly being a sex offender “of the grossest kind.”

“In these cases where family disputes are mixed up, we have to consider all the angles,” Remulla said. “Right now all signs point to a possible sex offender of the grossest kind. We want to be sure before we release the findings. The forensics data will be complete in a week.”

Thomas Sr. reportedly denies this as well, saying that he has slept with prostitutes in the past but has not engaged in any child abuse.

Meanwhile, Meghan said she’s “deeply distressed” over the child pornography investigation into her estranged father in a statement to Page Six Friday.

She confirmed she saw a 2018 letter about he allegations against her father and said she was assured at the time “that these were being investigated.”

“I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children, was for one reason: to protect them,” the mom of two shared in part. “I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families.”

The former “Suits” star, 45, also said that “although the breadth of what has now been uncovered is more sickening than one could ever imagine,” she hopes “justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection of innocent children.”

Meghan also reportedly told her dad that he’d never meet her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in a letter sent to him last year before his child sex abuse material allegations.

According to the Sun, the As Ever founder accused him of sexually abusing children and informed him that authorities were aware of his alleged wrongdoings.

Meghan also reportedly told him it would be the last time he’d ever hear from her.
