Why a Father's Heartbreaking Struggle in Gaza Is Capturing Attention

Every father hopes for a better life for their children, but no parent foresees their child living in a warzone. 

Akram Qasem, a Palestinian father of eight, is living amid an array of makeshift tents with his wife, children and relatives. One tent houses 12 of them as dirty water flows through the Gaza encampments, exposing all living there to unsanitary conditions.

With Gaza cut off from the outside world, there are very few ways of earning the money necessary to provide food and shelter.
