Hutton portrayed Dr. Ron Welch on “Doogie Howser, M.D.” during its four-season run from 1989 to 1993, alongside Neil Patrick Harris. On “JAG,” he played Lieutenant Commander Alan Mattoni from season 3 to season 6.

He also appeared in popular soap operas like “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “General Hospital.” In commercials during the '90s, he was known as a KFC restaurant owner.

Success in Voice Acting

Hutton had a successful voice acting career with roles in films such as “Shrek,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”

Fellow voice actor Steve Apostolina paid tribute on Facebook: "A remarkable human being has left this earthly plane." He praised Hutton's generosity and expressed admiration for his character.
