Prince Harry Faces Libel Lawsuit from Former Charity Sentebale

Share Post

Prince Harry's former charity, Sentebale, has initiated legal action against him and a close friend following his resignation as its patron amid internal disputes. The lawsuit was filed at the High Court in London.

Legal Proceedings Filed

Sentebale filed the defamation claims against Prince Harry and Mark Dyer, both associated with the charity. The claims cite a "coordinated adverse media campaign" that allegedly disrupted operations and harmed the charity's reputation.

Background of the Dispute

Prince Harry co-founded Sentebale with Prince Seeiso in 2006 to help young HIV and AIDS victims in Lesotho and Botswana. However, he resigned from his role in March 2025 after disagreements with Dr. Sophie Chandauka, who is still the chairwoman of the board.

The disagreements arose when Harry's team reportedly asked Chandauka to defend Meghan Markle from negative media coverage, which she declined.

Charity Commission's Findings

Following the disputes, Chandauka reported allegations of bullying and harassment to the Charity Commission for England and Wales. However, a subsequent investigation found no evidence of systemic issues within Sentebale but criticized the handling of internal disputes.

An insider close to Prince Harry stated that neither he nor Prince Seeiso plan to return to Sentebale while Chandauka remains chair.
