Dax Shepard Moved to Tears by Kristen Bell’s Loving Act at Dad's Deathbed

Unexpected Visit

Dax explained that as he was coping with his father Dave's battle with small-cell carcinoma, he felt overwhelmed by the number of visitors at the hospital. Desiring some personal space, he stepped outside to call Kristen Bell and express his frustrations.

Bell, who was seven months pregnant at the time, reassured him over the phone and revealed her presence by telling him to look left. She had flown from California to Detroit without notifying him in advance.

A Touching Moment

After her arrival, Bell joined Dax inside the hospital room where his father, despite being unable to speak, was able to feel her pregnant belly. This intimate encounter provided comfort during a difficult time.

Three months later, in March 2013, Bell gave birth to their first child, Lincoln. The couple welcomed a second daughter, Delta, in December 2014.

Reflecting on Father's Day

On Father's Day 2022, Dax shared a photo of the hospital scene on Instagram. He expressed his love for both his late father and his role as a parent alongside the picture.

Dax fondly remembered his father as both a "cute baby" and a "car-selling-assassin," wishing he had expressed more appreciation during his father's lifetime.
