Could This Manager's Oversight Be the Perfect Crime?
Suspicion at the Construction Site
At a busy construction site, the manager developed suspicions about one particular worker, feeling something was out of place. Despite having no concrete evidence, he worried the worker might be stealing materials.
Daily Activities
On the first day, the manager tasked the worker with moving bricks using a wheelbarrow. Each brick was accounted for upon delivery. The following day involved transporting 2x4s, and again, everything was delivered correctly.
This pattern of perfect deliveries continued for two weeks as the worker transported tools and various other materials without any losses.
The Unexpected Discovery
The manager's suspicions persisted even though nothing went missing. He eventually doubted his own concerns and decided to let them go. However, on Monday, the worker didn't show up for work.
The manager asked another employee to move bolts, only for him to notice an issue: there were no wheelbarrows available.
It turned out that the original worker was not stealing; instead, he was simply performing his duties exceptionally well, leading others to suspect dishonesty unnecessarily.
