Share Post

Mary Cosby was interviewed by police about her son Robert Cosby Jr.'s alleged domestic violence incident shortly before his death. The "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star discussed Robert Jr.'s relationship with his ex-wife Alexiana Smokoff in early January 2026.

Police Investigation Details

Cosby informed officers she rarely witnessed fights between her son and his ex-wife, noting only verbal disagreements. She denied any knowledge of physical violence and stated she did not raise Robert Jr. to be violent.

Authorities reported that Smokoff had previously contacted them in November 2025 regarding an alleged domestic violence incident that took place in May 2024 after she disposed of Robert Jr.'s drugs.

Legal Proceedings

During a conversation with police while incarcerated, Robert Jr. admitted to being on fentanyl during the 2024 incident and confessed to partial memory loss. He also communicated experiencing psychosis-like symptoms.

The legal proceedings included Smokoff filing for divorce in November 2025, finalized by January. Before his death, Robert Jr. faced domestic violence charges and had an arrest warrant pending against him.

Final Days and Charges

Robert Jr., who openly discussed drug struggles on a TV show, served time for violating a protective order against Smokoff. Released in February 2026, he was mandated to attend community service and anger management classes but was soon charged with felony assault again.

The young man was found dead on February 23 after an overdose call led to a death investigation.
