Rare Pic: Prince William Honors Princess Diana on UK Mother's Day
Prince William shared a previously unseen photo of Princess Diana on Instagram as a tribute for Mothering Sunday, the UK's version of Mother's Day. The image features young William holding hands with his mother in a field of flowers.
Remembering Princess Diana
The photo shows Princess Diana wearing a pink sweater and jeans while smiling alongside her son, who was just a toddler at the time. William captioned it: "Remembering my mother, today and every day. Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Happy Mother’s Day."
William was only 15 when Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
Family Tributes
King Charles III and Queen Camilla also shared pictures on Instagram of their late mothers to commemorate the occasion. They expressed wishes for a peaceful Mothering Sunday to all mothers and those missing theirs.
Diana's Legacy
Royal expert Richard Kay noted that Diana once thought Prince Harry might become king instead of "shy" Prince William. Before her passing, she would affectionately call Harry "Good King Harry."
Prince Harry eventually left the royal family in 2020 with Meghan Markle and is now estranged from William. Despite their departure, Harry and Meghan remain active in public engagements.
