Man Faces Justice for Kidnapping and Murder of Family Buried in Hidden Grave
The bodies of a missing Alabama mother and her two children were found murdered and buried in the woods. The suspect, Hector Gamaliel Argueta-Guerra, has been charged with their murders.
Discovery of Victims
The Choc family was last seen on January 30 at their home in Theodore, Alabama. The next day, evidence of a struggle was discovered in their home, leading to a missing person report. Authorities found their bodies at a property linked to Argueta-Guerra on Wednesday.
Charges and Motives
Argueta-Guerra, held since February on kidnapping charges, faces three counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty. The motive remains unclear, with authorities questioning why someone would harm a child.
Investigation Details
An arrest affidavit revealed that the victims were killed with a sharp-edged weapon. The toddler suffered head trauma, while the mother was stabbed multiple times. Their bodies were found in Baldwin County.
The sheriff's office identified the suspect as having gang affiliations and mentioned that he was previously slated for deportation but released for unknown reasons. In a social media post, they expressed their hope that justice will be served.
