Share Post

Lindsey Vonn has not made any decisions about her skiing future following a severe leg injury at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.

Focus on Recovery

Vonn, 41, expressed via social media that she is concentrating on recovering from her injury. She emphasized that she has enjoyed life outside of skiing after retiring six years ago and has achieved significant milestones in her sport.

Uncertain Future

Vonn stated that her future plans are undecided and will be determined on her own terms. She dismissed external opinions about whether she should continue racing or retire.

Recent Injury Updates

A few days prior to her statement, Vonn shared a video showing her recovery process, highlighting the physical challenges she faces. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, she has been progressing with rehabilitation exercises.

Vonn had returned to the Olympics despite an ACL tear during a World Cup race in Switzerland. Unfortunately, an accident during the event caused severe damage to the same leg.

The incident required immediate medical attention and four surgeries to stabilize her condition before returning to the U.S. Vonn publicly thanked Dr. Tom Hackett for saving her leg from amputation through a procedure known as a fasciotomy.
