Share Post

A former school staff member in Colorado is wanted by police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student. Authorities have been unable to locate Brenda Meza and believe she may be on the run.

Allegations and Police Investigation

Brenda Meza, 34, worked as a middle school staff member at Greeley-Evans School District 6. The Greeley Police Department stated that she is accused of repeatedly sexually abusing the victim over several months. She now has an active arrest warrant with multiple unspecified felony charges.

Investigators have not disclosed specific details about how Meza met the alleged victim or how many instances of alleged abuse occurred. They also have no leads on her current whereabouts.

School and Community Response

The principal of Franklin Middle School, Dr. Suzette Luster, sent a letter to parents emphasizing the priority of student safety and offering support services for those affected. The school district hired Meza in early 2020, where she served as a secretary, occasional substitute teacher, and cross-country coach.

Ongoing Search Efforts

Police first attempted to contact Meza at her home on February 12 but were unsuccessful. She was officially placed on administrative leave and then dismissed from her position on February 25.

Authorities urge anyone with information related to this case to contact Detective Austin Burckley at Austin.Burckley@greeleypd.com. To report sightings of Meza, individuals should call 911 or Officer Zach Eberhard at Zach.Eberhard@greeleypd.com or (970) 502-2186.
