Texas Police Fatally Shoot Man from Rep. Crockett's Security Team
Police in Texas fatally shot a man in a hospital parking garage, who was later identified as a former security guard for Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett. Authorities say he was wanted for an active arrest warrant at the time of the incident.
Shooting Incident Details
The shooting occurred on the night of March 11 when Dallas Police approached Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, 39, due to his outstanding warrant. When officers followed him to a parking garage at Children's Medical Center, he barricaded himself inside a vehicle.
Attempts by SWAT officers to remove Robinson from the car included using tear gas. However, Robinson reportedly emerged with a gun and allegedly pointed it at police, leading them to open fire.
Background and Allegations
Robinson was under investigation for impersonating an officer and allegedly used false credentials to secure his role on Crockett's security team. He is said to have used different aliases for this purpose.
Robinson had previously claimed connections with various law enforcement groups in Dallas and even launched a website offering police off-duty jobs. Records showed he received payment under these pretenses.
Response and Further Information
A SWAT doctor attempted to revive Robinson after the shooting, but he was pronounced dead on-site. Investigators noted that Robinson did not fire his weapon during the standoff.
FOX 4 reports indicate that Robinson had prior legal issues from 2009 to 2012, mostly related to theft, for which he pleaded guilty and received probation and fines.
Crockett's office has yet to comment on these developments. She recently lost her primary bid for the U.S. Senate to James Talarico.
