Couple Blackmails Chick-fil-A Greeter into Tragic Act

Share Post

A North Carolina couple has been sentenced to federal prison for their involvement in a blackmail and extortion scheme that targeted a man with an intellectual disability, leading to his suicide. The individuals, Trysten Anthony Cullon and Jade Ashlynn Stone, received sentences of 41 months and 27 months, respectively.

Details of the Scheme

Cullon and Stone harassed Christopher John Tsoulos, a 37-year-old with an intellectual disability, causing significant emotional distress. On September 5, 2024, the couple initiated their plan by using Tsoulos' phone without his knowledge at a Chick-fil-A in Charlotte.

The duo gained access to Tsoulos' financial applications through his unlocked phone, attempting unauthorized transfers via Cash App and PayPal. When this failed, they escalated their approach by threatening Tsoulos' family with humiliating accusations.

Tragic Outcome

The campaign lasted from September 5 to September 8, 2024. Sadly, on September 8, Tsoulos died by suicide outside his home. This loss deeply affected his family and friends.

Federal prosecutors indicated that the couple's actions were driven by a desire for financial gain to support their drug habits.

Sentencing and Reactions

In addition to prison time, Cullon and Stone are required to serve three years of supervised release and pay restitution. During the sentencing hearing, which was attended by over 60 people connected to Tsoulos, U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson described the event as emotionally impactful for all present.

An online obituary highlighted Tsoulos as a compassionate individual whose positive spirit impacted many lives in his community.
