Barry Keoghan Opens Up About Painful Set Incident on Peaky Blinders Film
Barry Keoghan had an unforgettable start while filming the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, where he plays Thomas Shelby's son. The actor shared his experience, including a challenging first day on set.
Unexpected On-Set Challenges
Keoghan revealed that Cillian Murphy, the star of the series and upcoming movie Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, reached out to him with the casting news on Father’s Day. The two had previously worked together in Dunkirk. Barry humorously noted that his first day involved "cracking all my knuckles open" during filming.
A Rough First Scene
The first scene Keoghan filmed was a fight in an actual pigsty. He described how he inadvertently hurt himself by punching the ground to stay energized for the shoot. Barry confirmed that the setting was as authentic as it seemed, adding humor to the account of his injury.
A Welcome Addition to the Cast
Despite initial difficulties, Barry expressed his admiration for working alongside Cillian Murphy and praised the welcoming atmosphere among the cast and crew. A longtime fan of the TV series, Keoghan also mentioned his interests outside acting, such as gaming.
The film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man premiered on Netflix in the UK on March 6 and will be available globally on March 20.
