Georgia Girl, 12, Dies After Collapse Near School Bus Stop Fight
A 12-year-old girl in Villa Rica, Georgia, died days after collapsing following a fight near a school bus stop. Jada West, a student at Mason Creek Middle School, went into cardiac arrest and was hospitalized.
Details of the Incident
A video on social media showed an altercation between West and another girl, both of whom fell during the fight. An adult intervened and stopped the fight. Although West picked up her bookbag and left, she did not make it home.
Cardiac Arrest Aftermath
Paramedics received a call about a young girl in cardiac arrest in the street. Upon their arrival, CPR was being administered by an adult. West was then taken to a hospital where she later died.
Investigation Ongoing
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fight and West's death. The Douglas County School System remembers her as an "upbeat, kind, and vibrant student." Officials stated that the incident occurred outside school hours and is not linked to any school-related activities. No charges have been announced.
