Detroit Hairstylist's Price Dispute Escalates Dramatically with Customer
Robin Phillips claims a routine hair appointment in Detroit turned into a dangerous situation when a disagreement over price escalated. She says the encounter left her and her daughter frightened.
Price Dispute Leads to Tension
According to Phillips, she visited a hairstylist's home anticipating to pay a discounted rate advertised online. After completing the hairstyles, the stylist allegedly demanded more money than initially agreed upon. When Phillips questioned the increase, the situation intensified.
During the confrontation, Phillips told Fox 2 that the stylist threatened to cut her daughter's hair with scissors if they did not pay the higher amount. The dispute continued to escalate.
Alleged Gun Threat
The incident reportedly worsened when the stylist went upstairs and returned with an AR-style gun. Video shows the stylist holding the weapon while demanding payment. Phillips claims that at this point she was not allowed to leave without paying more.
Phillips' Response and Police Involvement
Fearing for their safety, Phillips handed over nearly all her cash. The footage captures the stylist threatening to shoot if they didn't leave. Phillips subsequently filed a police report, describing the ordeal as distressing and wishing it could have been handled peacefully. Authorities have not confirmed any action against the hairstylist.
