Leadership Change at DHS

On March 5, Trump revealed that Noem would be succeeded by Senator Markwayne Mullin. This change comes amid discussions surrounding Noem's performance while serving in her position.

The New DHS Secretary

Markwayne Mullin, an Oklahoma Senator, was chosen as the new Secretary of Homeland Security. He will assume his role on March 31, 2026.

In his announcement, Trump highlighted Mullin's political experience and described him as an advocate capable of advancing important national security goals. Trump emphasized Mullin’s commitment to border security and combating illegal activities.
