Britney Spears' Court Appearance

Britney Spears is scheduled to appear in court two months following her arrest for driving under the influence. The hearing is set for Monday, May 4.

The pop star, age 44, was taken into police custody on March 4 at 9:28 p.m. and released the following morning. Her representative stated Spears is committed to following the law and working towards positive changes in her life.

Incidents Surrounding Her Arrest

Following the arrest, Britney deactivated her Instagram account after sharing videos that attracted attention online. In one post, she danced while wearing a revealing outfit, covering herself with an emoji.

In another video shared prior to deactivation, she danced in white attire with a cryptic caption expressing defiance and personal style choices.

Spears' Background and Legal History

This DUI incident comes almost five years after Britney's conservatorship ended in November 2021. The conservatorship had been established following a series of personal struggles.

Britney had been placed under her father Jamie Spears' legal control. It lasted 13 years before it was dissolved by a judge. In her memoir "The Woman in Me," she described how the arrangement affected her identity and music career.

The conservatorship began after Britney gained significant fame in the late '90s and early '00s but faced public scrutiny over personal challenges, including divorcing Kevin Federline.
