Naomi Watts shared on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" that her daughter Kai is her toughest fashion critic. The 17-year-old often voices strong opinions about her mother's wardrobe choices.

Watts, who shares her daughter with ex-husband Liev Schreiber, mentioned that she takes fashion advice from Kai, whether it's asked for or not. Despite often considering her daughter's suggestions, Watts decided not to follow Kai’s choice for the Met Gala in 2018.

Met Gala Wardrobe Decision

As a guest of Michael Kors, Watts had two outfits to choose from for the event. Her daughter preferred one dress, but Watts opted for the other. While on the way to the event with Kors when Kai called via FaceTime, noticing that her mother had worn a different dress than what she recommended.

Dress Gets Its Spotlight

The dress Kai originally chose was eventually worn by Watts at the Venice Film Festival later that year. Although happy with the decision, Kai felt removing a chiffon cape from the ensemble took away some excitement.

Kai has made strides in the fashion world herself, debuting on Paris Fashion Week's runway and opening a show at New York Fashion Week. Watts remarked that even as a young model, Kai is confident and proud of her work.
