Chef Anne Burrell's Tragic End: Police Reveal Suicide Note Discovery

Anne Burrell, a well-known Food Network chef, was found dead at her Brooklyn home on June 17, 2025. A police report indicated she left a note suggesting suicidal intentions.

Details of the Incident

The note was discovered in Burrell's primary bedroom by an investigator from the New York Police Department. Additional journal entries with similar content were also found.

She was found unconscious around 7:50 a.m., and emergency services declared her deceased shortly after their arrival.

Investigation Findings

Her husband, Stuart Claxton, reportedly found her body on the shower floor next to numerous pills. Although sources mentioned this, any link between the pills and her death remained undetermined initially.

The NYPD later considered her death as possibly resulting from a drug overdose. The official cause was determined to be acute intoxication from diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine.
