Whoopi Goldberg explains connection to Epstein files: 'I'm getting dragged'

Share Post

Whoopi Goldberg addressed rumors about her alleged connection to Jeffrey Epstein after her name appeared in his files. She clarified the details on "The View," explaining it was simply about a plane request denied by Epstein.

Goldberg's Response

The actress explained that while her name appeared in the files, it was because she needed a plane to attend a charity event in Monaco in 2013. The request was declined by Epstein, and Goldberg stated this is her only link.

Goldberg firmly stated she had no personal ties to Epstein, emphasizing that her past relationships have always been publicly known.

Discussion on "The View"

Goldberg’s co-host Joy Behar pointed out that many names are mentioned in Epstein's files, implying anyone could appear on the list. This prompted Goldberg to reiterate that she never had any association with Epstein other than the denied plane request.

Earlier discussions highlighted by Goldberg included criticism of women who were complicit with Epstein's actions, urging accountability among those who protected each other instead of standing up against him.

Context of Epstein's Crimes

The Department of Justice recently released Epstein's files. In 2005, he was investigated and later pleaded guilty to charges related to prostitution involving a minor. In 2019, he faced more severe charges of sex trafficking minors and died by suicide in jail that year before his trial.

His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, is currently serving a sentence for sex trafficking crimes connected to Epstein’s activities.
