Wisconsin Man Linked to Minnesota Police Pursuit in Missing Woman Mystery
A man sought in connection to a crime in Wisconsin was apprehended in Minnesota after a chase involving Wright County deputies. He is now in custody on $100,000 bail.
Robert Chilcote, 29, was captured following a 16-minute pursuit covering 17 miles and involving 10 deputies. An AR-15 rifle with an inserted magazine was found in his car.
Chilcote was wanted in connection to the disappearance of 24-year-old Gabriella Cartagena. He was believed to be the last person to see her at Red Arrow Park in Marinette, Wisconsin, on February 4.
The police chase started on February 5 after authorities were alerted about a person linked to an aggravated assault and possible homicide. The suspect was driving a red Toyota Prius with a firearm believed to be in the vehicle.
Following a high-speed pursuit, Chilcote failed to comply with orders to stop, reaching speeds over 100 mph and ignoring traffic signals. He was eventually caught when his vehicle got stuck after deputies deployed stop sticks.
Chilcote is currently detained for fleeing from an officer and being a fugitive from justice. The investigation into Cartagena's disappearance is ongoing, with authorities conducting an expanded search and following up on leads.
Community members have joined the search efforts for Cartagena, with one individual expressing the need for answers and closure. Police have provided a description of Cartagena and are urging anyone with information to contact the Marinette Police or local law enforcement.
